Happy World Spine Day

October is National Chiropractic Month and today, October 16, 2019 is World Spine Day! I’ve been intending to get back to posting online and today seems like the perfect day to start. This also marks the 1 month anniversary (or maybe monthiversary) of opening my new practice in Lindon, Utah! I love being here and I’m so grateful for the office I was blessed to find. Is Fasting Beneficial?

In my church, we are encouraged to fast (or refrain from eating and drinking) for a 24 hour period once a month. Generally, we hold this fast on the first Sunday of the month and each person can chose to participate or not. We do this for spiritual reasons, but the research in recent years have confirmed that there are definite health benefits from periodic fasting.

There are many ways to fast and lots of variety in the actual thing that is abstained from. What IS the Truth About Chiropractic?

Over the years, chiropractors have worked hard to educate the medical community and the public about what we do and the health benefits of chiropractic care. Yesterday I had the opportunity to give a short presentation to some of the youth from our church. These young men meet together one evening a week to learn, serve, and have fun together. It’s been almost a month since my last post. The fact that I’ve been more busy lately is my primary excuse. It it also the reason that I am again talking about stress. Chronic stress is a serious problem in our modern society and more and more studies are linking it to a variety of health issues. If you are like me, stress, fatigue, and poor sleep are a daily fact that you are trying to ignore. Could you spot someone having a Stroke?

Today, my big sister shared a link on FB about the importance of knowing the warning signs of someone who is having a stroke. According to the post:

“A neurologist says that if he can get to a stroke victim within 3 hours he can totally reverse the effects of a stroke…totally. He said the trick was getting a stroke recognized, diagnosed, and then getting the patient medically cared for within 3 hours, which is tough.”

So what’s so great about celery?

It’s been a couple of weeks since I’ve posted and I’m easing back into it with something simple celery.  Long crunchy stalks of celery can be very satisfying to eat, but they’re just “empty calories”, right?
