There is no simple answer for how often you need to see your chiropractor. A lot depends on your specific issue and your response to treatment. One thing I have noticed in my practice, however, is that the patients who come in more frequently, improve more quickly than those who come less often. I will usually recommend a more frequent visit schedule in the beginning stages of treatment, 3 times per week for instance, and then reduce the frequency as the patient improves (2 times per week, 1 time per week, every other week, and so on). Whatever the recommendation, it is always beneficial to be treated more in the beginning, because symptoms return more quickly in the initial stages of treatment. … More How often should I see a chiropractor?
Over the years, chiropractors have worked hard to educate the medical community and the public about what we do and the health benefits of chiropractic care. Recently, there have been research findings to backup the anecdotal evidence, including quite a few studies showing the efficacy of chiropractic care for treating low back pain specifically.
Today, many health care practitioners (including MDs) recognize chiropractic care as doing something beneficial, at least when it come to musculoskeletal pain (low back pain in particular). If you are still on the fence (or perhaps way out in the woods) about chiropractic, an article published in Medical News Today earlier this month might be able to sway you. … More What IS the Truth About Chiropractic?
Why does my shoulder hurt?
Lately, I’ve been seeing a number of patients with shoulder pain. I am not what you would call a “Sports Chiropractor”, but I have found myself with a lot of patients who have sports related injuries/ conditions. These are not professional athletes, but people who exercise/ workout on a regular basis. They come in with neck & back pain, hip pain, knee pain, foot pain, hand/ wrist pain, elbow pain, and shoulder pain. The patients with shoulder pain often have problems that are, at least partly, caused by poor posture and improper form while doing exercises. … More Why does my shoulder hurt?
Today I answered a question on the site Top Doc that I though you might find interesting. The person had the question: I have a dull pain in my lower back. How can I treat it?
They further said: “I have been doing zumba lately and I’ve also noticed a pain in my lower back. I’m suspecting it’s due to sudden activity while being overweight. What can I do to protect myself?”
My response was as follows: One of the most important things you can learn to do is to listen to your body. … More I have lower back pain
I am so impressed by how “little” things can make such a BIG difference in our lives. As a chiropractor, I get to see big changes in my patients from just the small things I do for them in the office. We see even bigger changes when the patients do exercises, or other activities that I have taught them to do, on their own. I love things like in this video below from Ayurveda by Curejoy. The video shows several simple acupressure points on the ear, that you can activate with a basic clothespin, to provide relief of symptoms in various parts of your body. I was having a lot of sinus congestion and post-nasal drip irritating my throat. I just held … More Easy Reflexology/ Acupressure
I had a great time last night at Gold’s Gym Arcadia! I began a marketing campaign their this month. My ad is being shown on the 20+ screens in the gym, I have my rack cards on display in the lounge area, and once or twice a month I get to be in the gym to promote my practice. I spent 3+ hours there last night demonstrating IASTM (Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization) vs traditional Massage. I met a lot of great people and was able to demonstrate the technique on many of them. Check out … More Thank You Gold’s Gym

We have gotten to the point as a society, where we not only accept, but expect our medical professionals to give us drugs for just about every issue. Often, we don’t ask or even consider whether or not we really need them or if there is an alternative form of treatment. Chiropractic care can be a great alternative or at least first option for … More Drugs Linked to Dementia
October 16, 2017 is World Spine Day! If you haven’t yet, take some time to think about your spine and its importance. Imagine, all of the nerves that send signals to and receive signals from all the parts of your body, including your visceral organs and your extremities (arms and legs) pass from your brain, down your spinal cord, and out to your body through small openings between each vertebra. It is no wonder so many amazing things happen when a chiropractor uses a chiropractic adjustment to correct subluxations. Make an appointment and see what can happen in your own life. … More Happy World Spine Day 2017!
